SeitenWechsel provides the foundations for exploring a whole new world and enables personal development through experience-based learning.

Programme description
SeitenWechsel is a programme designed to improve leadership and social skills. Participants leave their usual working environment behind to complete a week-long work placement at a social institution. During this time out of their comfort zone, they gain valuable experience that will have a lasting impact.The placements are structured and have clear objectives. Participants are supervised by an experienced specialist. Having reflected on the experience during a workshop, participants can apply what they have learnt to their own work and life. Each SeitenWechsel placement is tailored to the individual, with the host institutions responding to the needs, goals and availability of the participants. Placements are available any time and throughout Switzerland.
Objective
New experiences are the key to unlocking change. By gaining a new perspective, participants can develop key skills that they will be able to actively apply to their own life, corporate culture and local community. A SeitenWechsel role exchange also encourages personal development in the following areas: dealing with change and uncertainty, working as a team, resilience, non-discriminatory attitudes, conflict management, empathy, inclusion, and prevention in health and social care.
Target group
Everyone is eligible to complete a SeitenWechsel role exchange, but the programme is aimed at people who fall into the following categories:
- Executives and project managers working in the private sector and administration departments
- Employees over the age of 50
- People on sabbaticals
Around 3’800 people have benefited from a SeitenWechsel role exchange so far.
Price
SeitenWechsel intensive week: 2’500 francs (including contribution to the social institution, no VAT).
